kw [kw̥]

Phoneme:  kw’ [kw’] - IPA: Labialized velar ejective.

1 Word: denekwíkw’ęnę́ [tɛnekw̥íkˀwɛ̃nɛ̃] "skull"  -  Speaker: SP5

A velar stop with a labiovelar (w) offglide kw in word medial position after the prefix 'dene'.  This kw is voiceless. Notice also that the initial sound in the word, d, is also voiceless. Also note the labialized velar ejective kw’.

2 Word: denekwí [tɛnekw̥í] "head"  -  Speaker: SP5

An example of a labialized velar stop in stem initial position. Like the pain velar stop k [kx], this stop has affricate like properties.
