'  [ʔ]

Dene Sųłiné, Lac Brochet  -  Phoneme: ' [ʔ]  -  IPA: Glottal stop.

Word: dáhó'ą [dɑ́hóʔɑ̃] "locate"  -  Speaker: SP9

An exemple of a glottal stop ‘ [ ʔ] in stem initial position. As with stem initial consonants the closure period is quite long. There is some gloattlization in the following vowel, but not a great deal. Not the intervocalic h is realized as a voice fricative. contrast this with the symbol h and x. In this token this sound is more fricative ike than the other two examples.
