Biography

Carole Nasra holds a BA in Modern Languages (Arabic, French and English) and an MA in Translation from Saint Joseph University in Beirut. Her thesis was based on translation excerpts of Voyage en Orient by Gérard de Nerval.
Carole’s teaching is characterized by the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing French language as well as culture in Francophone countries. Students get introduced to music, cinema, cuisine and traditions in order to embrace their learning at different levels.
Carole is the faculty moderator for the ’University of Rochester’s chapter of PI Delta Phi, the National French Honor Society, chartered in 2019.
Before joining the University of Rochester, Carole taught conversational French to adults at Syracuse University and was an adjunct lecturer at Rochester Institute of Technology. She has also worked as an interpreter and freelance translator for various translation agencies.
