Important Notice: Due to the global health emergency and safety concerns rapidly developing around the global pandemic of COVID-19, the University of Rochester has made the difficult decision to cancel all spring and summer 2020 education abroad programs.
Study abroad is an integral part of our undergraduate curriculum. Students who study abroad gain first-hand experience of the customs and conditions in other countries, and are better equipped to understand and navigate cross-cultural interactions.
The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures (MLC) houses several study abroad programs:
- Arezzo, Italy
- Berlin, Germany
- Granada, Spain
- Procida, Italy
- Quito, Ecuador
- Rennes, France
- Seoul, Korea
- St. Petersburg, Russia
Students can also intern abroad for the summer through programs offered by the Educational Programmes Abroad (EPA) or study abroad for a semester, summer or year through the Center for Education Abroad.
Students looking to study abroad in the non-MLC program should speak to an education abroad advisor to determine how and if they can get credit for classes taken abroad.
