ABOUT URPSC
URPSC is a non-profit training clinic run by the Department of Psychology at the University of Rochester. The clinic serves as the primary therapy training site for graduate students in the Clinical Psychology PhD program.
We provide low-cost, evidence-based mental health care for the Greater Rochester community and offer strong training for future psychologists.
URPSC is located on River Campus and is separate from the University’s medical center and hospital system.
Our Mission
Our mission is to:
- Provide safe, caring, and effective therapy
- Use treatments based on proven research and competent clinical practice
- Train future psychologists to combine solid science with empathic practice and cultural awareness
- Connect clinical service, training, and research so each one improves the others
The Clinical Psychology PhD program is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) and Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS).
Our Commitment to Inclusion
URPSC welcomes people of all identities, backgrounds, and abilities. We aim to make every client feel safe and respected. Our clinicians receive training in cultural humility, and work hard to understand each client’s individual experiences and needs.
