Minors
Our department offers two minors:
We require students to maintain a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) in the minor, excluding allied field courses.
Biological Sciences (BI) Minor
To begin the minor declaration process for a BI minor, please use this link to access our departmental form.
Students in this minor will gain a solid foundation in the biological sciences and are required to take the following courses:
- One of the following:
- BIOL 110L: Principles of Biology I with Lab
- BIOL 112L: Perspectives in Biology I with Lab
- One of the following:
- BIOL 111L: Principles of Biology II with Lab
- BIOL 113L: Perspectives in Biology II with Lab
- One of the following:
- BIOL 190: The Human Genome
- BIOL 198: Principles of Genetics
- One elective course from the biology diversification list
- Two elective courses from the biology diversification list
- One of the following options:
- Another elective course from the biology diversification list
- A combination of three laboratory experiences associated with four-credit lectures or individual one-credit courses from laboratory list
- One four-credit full lab from the laboratory list
- One four-credit Independent Research Biological Sciences 395 Course pending approval of final report
