Kolkata, West Bengal, India

What got you interested in Earth and Environmental Sciences?

The rocks (mostly basalt) with which I would wage rock wars growing up. Also family vacations to the Himalayas. Excellent exposures!!

What do you enjoy most about U of R?

Doing experiments in the experimental lab and the Rush Rhees library; the collection is insane!

Which historical figure would you most like to meet?

Three actually: Subhas Chandra Bose (an Indian freedom fighter), Martin Luther King and Joan of Arc.

What is your favorite thing to do in Rochester, NY?

In Ra-Cha-Cha: Read a book in Cafe Sasso/ Watch a sunset from Cobbs Hill.

What is your favorite book?

This is an impossible question so I shall list three books I've read recently that I've found profoundly revelatory: Untouchable by Mulk Raj Anand, Slavery and Social Death by Orlando Patterson and A Promised Land by Barack Obama.
