What was it that originally sparked your interest in biology?
When I was younger, I remember watching and really enjoying nature documentaries. I would also get books on animals, and I think that really sparked my interest in biology, specifically ecology.
What do you enjoy most about working here at the U of R?
I really like how nice and welcoming everyone is. When I first joined the department and even now, I have had nothing but positive interactions with everyone.
How do you think our biology department stands out in comparison to other universities?
I think the amount of communication within the department is very strong. I really like the emphasis on congratulating members and giving them the space to celebrate achievements.
How do you unwind when you're not in the lab?
Most of the time, I spend time with family and friends. I also love to play video games and draw.
What is one thing about yourself that you’d like more people to know?
I really love music! I was involved in concert band and jazz groups for 9 years playing trumpet. I had been in the Rochester jazz festival, lilac parade, pit orchestra for my school's musicals, and various other activities.
