Tim Ryan

Tim Ryan began improvising while an undergraduate at The University of Rochester as one of the original cast members of In Between the Lines Improv Troupe.

He was a cast member and co-Director of Geva Comedy Improv for 12 seasons, right up until the program’s cancellation in 2018.  During his tenure at Geva Theatre Center, he has performed in upwards of 200 improvised, scripted, and semi-scripted productions, and produced and directed many of the same. Tim has taught theatrical improvisation to schools, private organizations, and the general public. He has developed and taught customized corporate training programs utilizing improvisation and stagecraft for Entercom Communications, ESL Federal Credit Union, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, Harris RF Communications, MVP Healthcare, RIT Saunders College of Business, Rochester General Hospital, Strong Memorial Hospital, and Truth Collective to name a few.

He has performed acting and voice-over work for local corporations and advertising agencies, and was once a photographic body double for a 67 year-old Sigmund Freud (while amazingly only in his late 20’s at the time). He has suffered hundreds of deaths onstage (both actual and metaphoric) and over the years has enjoyed varying degrees of theatrical success ranging from astounding to unmitigated disasters. He is a climber of mountains, a dreamer of dreams, and a wearer of corrective lenses.
