Jeff Adelberg

Jeff Adelberg is an award-winning, Boston-based designer who is established as one of the area's most sought-after lighting designers for theatre, musical theatre, and opera, designing over 300 productions over the past 20 years. His work can be seen at numerous theatres in New England and beyond. Jeff has won four Eliott Norton Awards and four Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards for his designs. Much of Jeff's recent work centers around celebrated director/designer David R. Gammons, with whom he has collaborated on over 25 productions ranging from Shakespeare to new plays by local playwrights to devised, ensemble-based work. Jeff designs lighting for Boston's annual Christmas Revels, a local holiday tradition featuring music, theatre, and dance performance from around the world. As an educator, Jeff has been teaching at Boston College's Theatre Department since 2006 and, in 2014, began teaching Lighting Design at Brandeis University. He has also been a guest lecturer and/or guest artist at The Boston Conservatory, Boston University, MIT, Suffolk University, Tufts University, The Hartt School, Concord Academy, Northeastern University, UMass, The New England Conservatory, and others.
