Fall 2025 Auditions
The Memo by Vaclav Havel
About The Memo: Václav Havel’s The Memo is a sharp, absurdist satire of bureaucracy and authoritarianism. When a new, incomprehensible language is imposed on a government office in the name of “efficiency,” communication breaks down and chaos reigns. Havel’s dark comedy exposes the dangers and madness of institutional control with wit, irony, and chilling contemporary relevance.
Because this production starts rehearsals prior to the Fall 25 semester, its auditions were held (and its cast determined) at the end of the Spring 25 semester. If you'd like to be involved in the production, we'd love to have you stage manage or work backstage or in techinical theatre. Just let us know!

The Philosophy of Andy Warhol adapted by Jesse Bonnell from the book by Andy Warhol
AboutThe Philosophy of Andy Warhol: This bold theatrical adaptation of Warhol’s iconic memoir, The Philosophy of Andy Warhol, channels the raw energy of youth, fame, and art and the artist’s deadpan wit. Drawn from over 600 Warhol films, it’s a fragmented, funny, and haunting portrait of a world obsessed with image—and the artists trapped within it.

ACTORS and PERFORMERS of COLOR—We need you!
Theatre is often viewed as a site of privilege and whiteness. The UR International Theatre Program acknowledges this and wants to be part of meaningful change. We know this is an ongoing project, and we want to build on the Theatre Program's record of and commitment to casting students from all communities in key roles over the course of its 34+ years. In addition to staging important works of theatre from BIPOC playwrights like Suzan-Lori Parks, Maria Irene Fornes, Carlyle Brown, Sam Chanse, and Jose Rivera, we're committed to diversifying our artistic staff and faculty. Every production has outstanding roles for all actors, including actors of color, but we still can do better!
Make a contribution to real change: show up and audition! You'll pave the way for more diverse offerings in the Theatre Program and greater enrichment for all at the University of Rochester!
