Josh Lau was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and graduated from Punahou School. In Hawaii he was a teaching assistant for the summer school musical theatre class at Punahou, stage managed for the Hawaii Shakespeare Festival, and volunteered for Hawaii Opera Theatre. He received a B.A. in Theatre Arts with a minor in Music from Nazareth College. He had an internship with Meadow Brook Theatre in Rochester, Michigan and Bristol Valley Theatre in Naples, NY, which has led to working with BVT as Apprentice Program Director then Stage Manager for a couple summer seasons. This past summer he was an Assistant Stage Manager for Ohio Light Opera, working with a 7-show rotating repertory season. He has also volunteered and stage managed for the Rochester Fringe Festival, and was most recently the Production Manager for the Spiegeltent & Spiegelgarden venues. He is now in his 3rd year as the Production Stage Manager for Eastman Opera Theatre at the Eastman School of Music.
