Lots of Rochester Representation at ACAL56
This weekend, the University of Minnesota will host the 56th Annual Conference on African Linguistics (ACAL), a premier gathering for scholars and researchers in the field. We're proud to share that the University of Rochester will be well represented, with several faculty, graduate students, and alumni attending and presenting their work. It’s an exciting opportunity to showcase our research, connect with colleagues, and contribute to the ongoing conversations shaping the study of African languages. The presenters include:
- Lateef Adeleke, current PhD student, "Morphosyntax of Tense in Uhami"
- Jeremy Coburn, Visiting Assistant Professor, "Tone Polarity vs. Dissimilation: Evidence from Hadza"
- Alexandrine Dunlap, MA in 2020, "Analyzing Agreeing Negation in Gweno"
- Alexandrine Dunlap, MA in 2020, "Patterns of Negation Within and Across Bantu"
- Rebecca Everson, MA in 2024, " Agreement Resolution with Coordinated Nouns in Shekgalagadi"
- Asia Pietraszko, Assistant Professor, "An Argument for a High Position of the Ndebele Reciprocal"
