Arkajit Mandal Wins an ACS Graduate Award for Theoretical Chemistry
November 9, 2020
Arkajit Mandal, graduate student in the Huo Group, was awarded an ACS Physical Chemistry Division Award in Theoretical Chemistry. This award is sponsored by The Journal of Physical Chemistry (JPC), and includes a $500 prize.
At the Huo Group, Arkajit has been working on developing on-the-fly quantum dynamics approach which can be used to investigate new chemical reactivities that involves quantum mechanical interactions between photons, phonons, electrons, and protons. In the last few years at the Huo Group, Arkajit has been investigating the underlying principles of Polaritonic Chemistry in which chemical reactivities are tuned by coupling molecular systems to photons in an optical cavity.
Congratulations Arkajit!
