Wardrobe Supervisor, Costume Designer, Researcher & Design Assistant for costumes and props.
Currently hovering between both Broadway and television, Alex is the Wardrobe Supervisor for the 2018 Tony Award winner for “Best New Musical,” The Band’s Visit, and a Wardrobe Assistant for NBC’s The Today Show. Prior to The Band’s Visit, Alex was the full-time Wardrobe Assistant at NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers. Responsibilities included digital costume archiving, celebrity guests and wardrobe supervision on remote shoots for digital comedy. Previously a Broadway dresser, select Broadway credits include: The Heidi Chronicles, Disaster, Amazing Grace, Of Mice & Men, The Color Purple, and Motown: The Musical.
Her costume designs have been seen both on television and stage. Television commercial credits include ‘Stratego’ (2017) and theatre credits include Access Theatre (Omega Kids), 2014 New York Fringe Festival and HERE (Coffee & Biscuit), Ars Nova's 2014 ANTFest (Silo), Ars Nova (Isaac Oliver’s Lonely Christmas 2013), The Gym at Judson (The Capables) and the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival (The Drowsy Chaperone). Assistant credits include: The Acting Company, Theatre for a New Audience, Soho Rep, Ars Nova, Transport Group, Slant Theatre Project, The Curtis Institute, Columbia University and The University of Rochester.
A member of the Class of 2011, Alex graduated from The University of Rochester with a BA in Art History with Higher Distinction. While at the University, Alex worked at Todd Theatre as a Production Stage Manager and Assistant Costume Shop Manager (and later as a Props Master!). Having no formal technical theatre experience before attending college, Alex attributes all backstage knowledge and wardrobe skills to lessons learned at Todd Theatre. In 2012, Alex received her Master's in Material and Visual Cultures of the Past with a concentration in Dress and Textile Histories from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Archival and curatorial experiences include: City Art Center of Edinburgh, National Museum of Scotland, Museum of the City of New York, and The American Folk Art Museum.
She is a proud member of Theatrical Wardrobe Union Local 764.
