Biography

Casey R. McNamara received a BFA in Technical Theatre from Avila University and an MFA in Scenography from the University of Kansas.  Casey started his costuming career at The Rev as a production wardrobe member, a stitcher, and eventually the assistant costume shop manager.  They have managed costume shops at Avila University, Johnson County Community College, Geva Theatre Center, and now The University of Rochester.  He has also been a wig crew member for the Lyric Opera of Kansas City.  While Casey has most notably worked in costuming, they started their professional theater career in lighting.  Working as an electrician and spotlight operator at Shawnee Mission Theater in the Park and an electrician for Harvest, an outdoor theatrical lighting company.  Casey has locally designed costumes for Geva Theater Center (Thurgood, Erma Bombeck, Million Dollar Quartet, Niceties) and Blackfriars Theatre (Next to Normal), they have also designed lights for various musicals at Suny Geneseo.  Casey is very excited to be a member of the University of Rochester International Theatre Program.
