Overview
The University of Rochester Chamber Singers are a select 16-20 member vocal ensemble based out of the Department of Music. Made up primarily of undergraduate students in the College of Arts, Sciences and Engineering, the Chamber Singers explore a cappella and chamber music from the 14th to the 21st centuries. Unrestricted by stylistic barriers, the group performs everything from Renaissance motets to vocal jazz, with a special focus on performance of contemporary repertoire.
The Chamber Singers have toured to New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. Much in demand in the Rochester community, they were chosen to perform at the New York State School Music Association’s 2004 Winter Conference.
For the 2022/2023 academic year, auditions for the Chamber Singers will be on Sunday August 28, 1PM-6PM, by appointment only. You must secure your audition time, in advance, by signing up online.
