#### Thomas Tucker awarded NSF grant

Professor and Chair Thomas Tucker has been awarded a three year National Science Foundation grant in the amount of $151,000 entitled *Potential density, uniform boundedness, and points in special position*.

He will use the grant to pursue research into the application of dynamics to the study of rational solutions to polynomial equations. The subject is commonly known as *Diophantine equations*, named after Diophantus of Alexandria, who studied them in the third century AD.
