Harvey J. Makadon, MD; Director, National LGBT Health Education Center, The Fenway Institute; Clinical Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School. This program will describe health disparities found among lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people, and some of the factors that influence these disparities. Participants will learn strategies for: 1) Inquiring about and being supportive of a patient’s sexual orientation and gender identity; 2) Taking a sensitive history with LGBT people; and 3) Creating an inclusive and welcoming care environment.
