Building Intellectual Connections

Our research programs build connections across scholars, academic disciplines and universities to shed light on the most pressing challenges the world's democracies face and to identify paths to democracy for citizens around the world.  We support research on four key themes connected to democracy: Populism, Liberalism and Globalization; Polarization, Race and Identity; Democracy, Dictatorship and Development; and Elections, Institutions and Policy.  Learn more by browsing our Working Paper Series, reading about our Visiting Scholars and Faculty Affiliates, and exploring the Democracy Center's Grants.
