2024-07 Rose Appointed to Wilmot Professorship

Rose is honored to be appointed as the James P. Wilmot Distinguished Assistant Professor of Chemistry for the 2024–2026 period. The Wilmot Professorship was established to support “some of the most promising young men and women in the early stages of their academic careers.” The fund supports the appointment of four Wilmot Assistant Professors, one in each of the major divisions of Arts, Sciences and Engineering at the University of Rochester.

2024-05 Congratulations Undergraduates

A big round of congratulations to Kennedy Lab undergraduates:

  • 👩🏻‍🎓 Recent graduate, Xijue (Jade) Wu (BS, 2023; Take-5, 2024), who will be starting graduate school at Princeton Chemistry Roque Lab in the fall
  • 👩‍🔬 Rising senior, Rebecca Reagan, who earned a highly competitive research internship in Global Discovery Chemistry at Novartis this summer
  • 👨‍🔬 Rising senior, Abraham Ellenbogen, who earned a prestigious ACS DOC Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) to continue his research in the Kennedy Lab full-time this summer.
  • 👨‍🔬 Rising junior, Matthew Gleason, who earned a Schwartz Discover Grant from UR Office for Undergraduate Research, to begin full-time research in the Kennedy Lab this summer.

2024-07 Rose receives NSF CAREER Award

We are grateful to the National Science Foundation (NSF) Chemical Catalysis and CSDM-B Programs in the Division of Chemistry for supporting our research with a CAREER Award! We are excited to continue our work on “CAREER: Tautomeric-Ligand-Enabled Olefin Functionalization and Cross-Coupling Using Terrestrially Abundant Transition Metal Catalysts”!
