Conference and Research Funding
The Frederick Douglass Institute (FDI) offers grants to University of Rochester faculty and graduate students to support their research in the field of African and African-American studies (AAS).
Proposals may include expenses like travel to professional conferences (in cases where the applicant is on the program), travel for research purposes, and expenses connected with research and course development.
Fall submissions must be received no later than December 17, 2019.
Spring submissions must be received no later than April 10, 2020.
To apply for a research grant, please submit a:
- FDI Grant Application Form (DOC)
- Detailed budget
- Letter of support from faculty member*
*Letters of support are only required for graduate students.
