Lorca’s magnificent and brutal drama about yearning and desire in rural Spain comes to life in a dazzling production by Gisella Cardenas.  Desperation, longing, and passion are the hallmarks of Lorca’s work, and Yerma, considered to be one of his masterpieces, contains some of the most searing and powerful poetry ever written for the stage.  One woman’s desire to conceive, frustrated by her husband and society, lead to a shocking transgression of a restrictive world’s concepts of duty, honor, and fidelity.

Directed by Gisella Cardenas
