My research focuses on utilizing biological and chemical tools to enhance photochemical hydrogen evolution systems. My work utilizes organic dyes and protein catalysts to reimagine hydrogen evolution in a heavy-metal free system. Another project utilizes electrogenic bacteria and nanoparticles to facilitate nanoparticle photocatalysis. Current work looks at elucidating electron transfer mechanism between the bacteria and nanoparticle. Additionally, I study quantum dot and nanoclusters for photocatlsysis, studying the effects of ligands. Outside of lab I enjoy being outdoors and hanging out with my cat. |
