Research Experience
Fall 2022 - Spring 2025 Dr. Brian Smith, Bucknell University: Investigated preferential crystallization of acetaminophen polymorph Form III when exposed to environmental humidity and additives (silica, monosaccharides, and polysaccharides) using differential scanning calorimetry and powder X-ray diffraction.
Spring 2024 Dr. Sarah Smith and Dr. Moria Chambers, Bucknell University: Designed and characterized a truncated Drosophila melanogaster cecropin B peptide and its efficacy against E. Coli. Explored the impact of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial infection on cecropin expression in Drosophila melanogaster.
Current Research
My current research in the Paton group centers on the development of a multi-enzyme system for group transfer chemistry in the chemoenzymatic synthesis of natural products. This method has the potential to be utilized in late-stage functionalization of other natural products or pharmaceuticals.
