Special guest speaker Jonathan Ornstein, CEO of JCC Kraków in Poland will be sharing his organization’s amazing work. Join Mr. Ornstein as he discusses how Krakow’s Jewish history impacts their efforts to aid Ukrainian refugees. Eighty years ago, Jews were forced to leave their homes in Krakow. Today, JCC Krakow warmly welcomes Ukrainian refugees seeking asylum, shelter, and support. JCC Krakow has directly helped and supported more than 300,000 Ukrainians, more than 98% of whom are non-Jews.
The event includes “Through Their Eyes” refugee art exhibition as well as a post-talk, meet-and-greet reception.
Presented by DEEP Arts, the University of Rochester's Skalny Center for Polish and Central European Studies, the City of Rochester's Sister Cities/International Programs, Temple B'rith Kodesh, and additional local organizations.
