Dr. Maciej Teczke of Jagiellonian University in Kraków

The Skalny Center for Polish and Central European Studies invites you to a lecture by our Fall 2026 Visiting Professor, Dr. Maciej Teczke of Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Dr. Teczke is an Associate Professor at Jagiellonian University. His research focuses on strategic and change management, organizational flexibility, entrepreneurship, and organizational resilience.

Dr. Teczke will assess whether "miracle" is the right word for Poland's economic record since 1989 and what it means to call the country a European powerhouse. The lecture will compare Poland's income and productivity with those of its neighbors and Western Europe, and explain the policy and institutional choices behind the catch-up. It will close with the challenges ahead, including an aging population and the search for new sources of growth.
