Public Health Faculty
Public Health faculty either teaching or doing sustainability-related research.
Interests: Dr. Chin is interested in social class gradients in health, and women's position in society and its impact on their health and the health of their children. Dr. Chins teaching responsibilities include: PH 101 Introduction to Public Health I; PH 215 Public Health Anthropology; PH 265 Global Health; and PH 397W Community Engagement Internship. Beginning in fall 2015, Dr. Chin will also advise students majoring in Health, Behavior, and Society.
Interests: Dr. van Wijngaardens research focuses on the potential role of occupational and environmental exposures (primarily heavy metals and pesticides) in the development of cancer and neurological conditions in both children and adults. Dr. van Wijngaardens teaching responsibilities include: PH 201 Environmental Health and PM 413 Field Epidemiology. He is the primary advisor for students majoring in Epidemiology and the primary advisor for students majoring in Environmental Health.
