Inge’s 1953 Pulitzer Prize-winning play—an American classic—comes to life in a radical new version by director, Osheen Jones (movies: Todd Haynes’s The Velvet Goldmine; Julie Taymor’s Titus Andronicus—both as an actor). Osheen investigates Picnic’s themes of eroticism, frustration, and sublimation through a queer, gender fluid lens that is sure to make even those familiar with the work discover it anew and remarkably contemporary in our current non-binary, social-media-obsessed world.
