Christian Couture

Christian received a BFA in Musical Theater from Syracuse University. It was at the Syracuse Stage costume shop where he was first introduced to the world of costumes.  He later moved to New York City where he worked at Barbara Matera, Ltd.  His first responsibilities were as a crafts person helping with the Radio City Rockettes and Broadway shows including The Lion King, Mama Mia!, Aida, and Wicked.  He went on to work for American Ballet Theater for their production of Raymonda designed by Zack Brown.  During his time in New York City Christian also served as the resident costume designer for the Godlight Theater Company--designing costumes for productions such as A Clockwork Orange, The Manchurian Candidate, House of Yes, and Pilgrims of the Night.

Other highlights of Christian’s career in the theater have included an appearance in Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men at Syracuse Stage directed by Bob Moss.  Christian has also written a play titled, The Men, which performed to sold out audiences at the Studio at 620 in St. Petersburg Florida, directed by Bob Devin Jones.

His costume design credits also include the film If You Could Say It In Words and costume consulting on the film The Paper Store starring Penn Badgley.
