The Humanities Center announces the creation of its Manuscript Workshop program. The program enables full-time, tenure-track or tenured members of the University of Rochester faculty in the School of Arts & Sciences who are close to completing a book-length manuscript to benefit from an on-campus discussion of the project by three senior, external scholars in their field.
The visiting scholars, selected by the UR faculty member, will receive an honorarium of $1000 in return for a commitment to read and comment on the manuscript. The program also covers the travel expenses of the visitors and a dinner for the workshop group. University of Rochester faculty members who agree to read the manuscript may also participate in the workshop, which is anticipated to run approximately three hours.
In its initial phase, the Manuscript Workshop program will fund one workshop per semester. Preference will be given to untenured faculty members who are not Humanities Center fellows at the time of the workshop.
To apply, please complete the application and send it, along with a c.v., to email@example.com. The Humanities Center Executive Committee will select the awardees in the spring of 2019.
