My research interests are centered in mentality and the study of the self in Soviet Russia. Looking specifically at the Brezhnev Era, I focus particularly on the ways in which Russians perceive their place in society, how their mentality evolved, aspects of individual agency, and methods of dissent. Currently, I am studying ideas pertaining to psychiatry, Soviet law in the late 1960's in reference to political trials, and samizdat writings, and seek to continue my research on the Brezhnev Era.
