Born in Vilnius, Lithuania, Lina Žigelytė holds a Ph.D. in Visual and Cultural Studies from the University of Rochester. Her research focuses on transnational aspects of modern art and the relationship between sexuality and representation. Her current book project examines the ways migrant artists of the historical avant-garde mapped out the experiences of queer lives in photography and early experimental film. She has taught classes on modern art, women's studies, and disability studies.
