Consultations and Resources
The University has partnered with New York State, IBM, and others to make major investments in the development of outstanding infrastructure for high-performance computing to support data science research and data analytics.
The Center of Excellence in Data Science (CoE) assists University and industry researchers to assess their computational requirements and facilitate access to the appropriate resources. These resources include:
- Center for Integrated Research Computing (CIRC): Provides support services to use computational and data analytics technology in research activities.
- Health Sciences Center for Computational Innovation (HSCCI): Hosts an IBM Blue Gene/Q supercomputer and a new Linux cluster, BlueHive 2, making HSCCI one of the five most powerful university-based supercomputing sites in the nation.
- VISTA Collaboratory: Offers a 1,000-square-foot visualization lab equipped with an interactive, tiled-display wall that can render massive data sets in real time, providing researchers and data scientists the ability to visualize and analyze complex data instantaneously and collaboratively.
If you are interested in accessing these data science resources and expertise, please request a research computing consultation or contact Mike Kennerknecht at firstname.lastname@example.org or (585) 275-1043.
