Research Overview

My research is broadly focused on relationship functioning within committed romantic relationships. More specifically, I am interested in the effect of sexual satisfaction and sexual functioning on individual health outcomes and relationship functioning and well-being. My research projects have included creating and validating a new optimized measure of sexual satisfaction and a measure that assesses the roles that sex plays within committed relationships (i.e., bonding, boosting self-esteem, energizing the relationship, etc.), as well as evaluating how these constructs relate to a number of relationship factors such as relationship quality, sexual and affectionate behaviors, and communication.
