INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: 1. After downloading strat.zip, use WinZip or other zip/unzip software to extract all files to one directory on your computer hard drive. For the following, I'll assume the directory is c:\strat. The zip file includes the following files, * atog.exe ASCII conversion utility * GRTMsetup.exe Gauss runtime module setup * help.txt Help file in text format -- also viewable within STRAT * L.COM Program needed to view HELP.TXT and NREF.TXT within STRAT * MC12A.DAT/DHT Example GAUSS dataset * NREF.txt Bibliography in text format -- also viewable within STRAT * README.txt This file * SAMPLE.ASC Example ASCII dataset (that can be atog'd) * STRAT14.GCG Compiled GAUSS program of STRAT version 1.4 * stratman.pdf STRAT manual in pdf format 2. Once the files are extracted, run GRTMsetup.exe. Follow all instructions. When you are prompted for the installation directory, enter the current installation directory (e.g., c:\strat), NOT the directory suggested by the setup program. You want to install the Gauss runtime module in the same directory as the STRAT files. Once the setup is finished, installation is complete. RUNNING STRAT 1. Double-click on the Gauss runtime module: gsrun.exe 2. When the Gauss runtime window appears, type "run strat14.gcg" at the ">>" prompt. 3. STRAT will run in a separate window.
