Harlan Lane, a specialist in the psychology of language and Distinguished University Professor at Northeastern University, will give a talk on Deaf culture and ethnicity as guest speaker for the Neilly Series Lectures. While his research is focused on speech, sign language, and Deaf culture, Lane is also a critic of cochlear implants and an often controversial spokesperson for the Deaf community.
