URMC Anti-Discrimination Policy and Explicit Patient Bias: A Discussion

This workshop reviews institutional antidiscrimination policies and literature on healer-patient race concordance and best medical practices, and provides participants the opportunity to gain knowledge and develop skills to appropriately respond to explicit statements of bias and perceived statements of bias. This workshop incorporates methods from the humanities and performing arts to engage participants in a discussion and mutual effort to develop implementable strategies for addressing bias in the workplace.
