The Russians Are Coming (Directed by Heiner Carow)

Two films about Germany in 1945, made in East Berlin in 1968. One film became one of the most critically acclaimed films about WWII, the other was banned instantly and released only in 1988. The pair will be screened together for the first time in the US at the George Eastman Museum on two consecutive Fridays in January:

Jan. 20: I Was Nineteen (Konrad Wolf– Director)
Jan. 27: The Russians Are Coming (Heiner Carow– Director)
