Beyond the Tenure Track: Non-Traditional Career Paths for Humanities Grad Students
November 10, 2016
05:00 PM - 06:00 AM
Humanities Center Conference Room D
Hear about the less typical career paths taken by three English PhDs: Marie Turner, Director of Robbins Library; Esther Arnold, Archives Assistant at the Department of Rare Books and Special Collections; and Sonia Kane, Editorial Director of the University of Rochester Press (who received their PhDs from UPenn, UR, and the CUNY Graduate Center, respectively).
Panelists will discuss strategies for creating a versatile professional portfolio, conducive to success on the traditional academic job market but also outside of it. Topics discussed will be applicable to current MA and PhD students in English, but also to those pursuing advanced degrees in any other humanities program (or the social sciences).
