"Fear and Democracy: Reflections on Security and Freedom"

Every year, the UR chapter of Phi Beta Kappa sponsors an event to promote an interest in the liberal arts and sciences.  This year, Ira Katznelson will talk on “Fear and Democracy: Reflections on Security and Freedom." He is a political scientist from Columbia, who has written books on the history of American politics, especially on issues of security and race.  He is currently president of Social Science Research Council, and he is a past president of the American Political Science Association.
