The lab grade (40% of final grade) will be based upon your performance on a series of exercises and an exam completed during the lab session, and on take-home projects. The breakdown of individual lab projects and exams is given above. All students should obtain a field notebook, grain size card, a rock hammer, small plastic bottle for carrying dilute HCl, a hand lens, a ruler to be brought on field trips and to appropriate labs. Acid bottles and grain size cards can be purchased from Carmie ($2 for acid bottles and $4 for grain size cards). All other supplies can be purchased from WARD's or other geology equipment distributors (see order form handout and catalog). The lab sections all meet in Hutchison 205. If you have any questions regarding lab, email the TA, Dave Auerbach. |
