Join Eric Horvitz, distinguished machine learning researcher, Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and Managing Director of Microsoft Research to explore how data science is being used to advance the good of society.  We will see how breakthroughs in large-scale data collection, predictive models, and decision-support systems are solving previously intractable problems in clinical medicine, public health, transportation, disaster recovery, and many other areas.   Dr. Horvitz is a member of the Advisory Committee for the University of Rochester's Institute for Data Science. No RSVP is necessary.
